Vacuum-packed low-hydrogen electrode

E7018-1 H4R welding electrodes for UAE fabrication and maintenance.

KHANDU supplies the proven 4.0 mm E7018-1 H4R configuration in vacuum packaging, subject to the manufacturer's certificate, packaging integrity and the customer's WPS and project requirements.

Product overview

Understanding E7018-1 H4R

E7018-1 H4R combines the E7018-1 low-temperature impact requirement with an H4 diffusible-hydrogen limit and an R moisture-resistance designation. The supplied product is vacuum packed to help preserve its factory-dry condition before opening.

Why this configuration matters

  • Enhanced low-temperature toughness: AWS E7018-1 H4R requires a minimum 27 J Charpy V-notch value at -46°C.
  • Low diffusible hydrogen: H4 limits diffusible hydrogen to a maximum of 4 mL per 100 g of deposited weld metal, supporting hydrogen-cracking control when the complete welding procedure is followed.
  • Moisture resistance: the R suffix identifies an electrode that meets the AWS absorbed-moisture requirement.

Packaging and handling

  • Vacuum packaging helps protect the electrodes from moisture during transport and storage while the seal remains intact.
  • Confirm pack size, vacuum integrity, allowed exposure time after opening and the manufacturer's holding or re-drying instructions.
  • Confirm the base material, required strength, impact-test temperature, WPS, certificate scope and project acceptance criteria.

RFQ checklist

  • Complete AWS A5.1 classification: E7018-1 H4R.
  • Diameter, welding position, current and mechanical property requirements.
  • Vacuum pack size, storage procedure and allowed exposure time after opening.
  • Certificates, trial quantity and UAE delivery location.

Selection before supply

The complete E7018-1 H4R designation, vacuum packaging, certificate consistency, usability and customer acceptance all matter. KHANDU checks manufacturer documents and customer testing feedback before regular supply.
